Description
A Disposable Invasive Blood Pressure (IBP) Kit is a sterile, single-use medical kit designed for the direct and continuous measurement of arterial or venous blood pressure within a patient’s vasculature. The kit typically includes a pre-assembled system of a transducer, high-pressure tubing, flush device, and often a sterile dome and continuous flush device. It connects to an indwelling arterial or venous catheter, transmitting the physiological pressure signal to a bedside monitor where it is displayed as a real-time waveform and numerical values for systolic, diastolic, and mean pressures.
This system provides highly accurate and dynamic blood pressure monitoring, which is critical in settings where rapid hemodynamic changes occur, such as in operating rooms, intensive care units (ICUs), and cardiac catheterization labs. Its disposable nature eliminates the risk of cross-contamination between patients, ensures sterility, and simplifies setup for clinical staff. By delivering precise, moment-to-moment pressure data, the IBP kit is an indispensable tool for managing critically ill patients, guiding fluid and vasoactive drug therapy, and ensuring patient safety during high-risk procedures.
